The bay is host to dozens of high multi-color monoliths which rise sharply from the clear blue-green sea. Once of the most spectacular sight in Thailand.

The Andaman Sea is a fish-rich portion of the Indo-Pacific Ocean. Phuket is a magnificent island situated off the south west of Thailand's Andaman Sea coast. The island has been a popular tourist destination for many years and boasts an enviable number of world-class hotels and resorts. The wonderful hospitality and friendliness of the Thai people plus their experience in catering to the needs of overseas visitors makes Phuket a unique angling venue. Phuket offers visiting anglers so much more than superb fishing. Premier golf courses, fabulous sailing and some of the finest dive sites in the world are just a few of the added attractions to be experienced on Phuket.

As a Sailfish venue, on it's day, Phuket can compare with anywhere in the world. Multiple hook-ups with these splendid fish are very common and several boats have recorded catches of ten or more Sailfish in a single day.

Sailfish can be caught year-round but the "hot" times are generally November-March with another run during the rainy season in July and August.

Tuna, Dorado, Wahoo, Barracuda and King Mackerel are caught throughout the year. The Tuna are generally not giants with Skipjack, school Yellowfin, respectable Dog-tooth, Longtail and Kawa Kawa representing the most abundant species. The hard-fighting Dorado are common with occasional individuals reaching over 50lb. Huge catches of Wahoo have been recorded with trophy-sized specimens nearing 100lb being taken in the deep water over. the continental shelf. Barracudas range in size from bait-stealing pests to near world records, Giant Trevally are always value-for-money. Monster over 80lb have been caught but there is fantastic action to be had by casting poppers over a reef for mid-size specimens - not recommended for the week-hearted.

During rainy season, the prevailing winds are from the south west and sea conditions may be less than perfect. The sea is rarely too rough to fish, we generally experience long, smooth swells and shower rain with heavier rain at night.
