From Phuket Town go to Ha Yaek Wat Chalong (Chalong Temple five-way junction) and go up the Kata Road over the hill to Karon Beach. Turn left at Karon circle and you'll find us. The Old Phuket Hotel is near the Karon Shopping Centre with foreign currency exchange booth, banks, restaurants, and bars nearby.

The Old Phuket Hotel at Karon Beach is a Sino-Portugese-style creation that evokes memories of 19th century Southeast Asia. The atmosphere will take travellers back to the days of the spice trade, of tin mining, of Chinese junks plying the straits of Malacca and the golden age of travel before resorts and package tours.
Built as a replica of the architecture that still remains in the old sections of Phuket Town, the The Old Phuket Hotel provides guests with an historical alternative to the typical hotel holiday.

Sino-portugese architecture...has its origins in the Chinese shop-houses of Malacca, the former Portugese colony in West Malaysia. The same influences can be seen along the streets of Penang, in old sections of Kuala Lumpur, and in Singapore. In Phuket's Chinatown areas, examples of the fine latticework, colourful ceramic tiles, ornate cornices, and wooden shutters that typify the style can be seen in the shophouse facades along Krabi-Thalang Road and Dibuk Roads. Larger beautiful Sino-Portuguese mansions are also found throughout the town.
