Dauw
Talae Cruise
The 25-metre wooden junk DAUW TALAE 2 (Star of the
Sea) weighs 85 tones, and is one of the biggest and comfortable junks in
South-West Thailand. The convenient long
chairs on the sun-deck makes your stay really relaxing. The
ship combines western comfort with Asian charm. The DAUW TALAE 2 was
inspired by the 16th century Portuguese junk "Lorcha", build in China
(Macao) ideal for fighting pirates. The ship launched in December 1996,
offers a huge 260 sqm of deck space on three levels. Its 8 guests and two
crew cabins, one big deck house, a salon, and three sun decks accommodate
16 guests up to 2 weeks in style, served by six to seven crew
members. Our 325 HP engine provide an average speed of 8 knots,
about 8 nautical miles (14,6 km) an
hour.
